Sugar, Spice & Everything Nice

Hello again, my friends! Just getting ready to head to another baseball game. Today I’m not in a hurry to get there because Addison has the day off so I thought I would update you all on the last week before I headed out! Like usual, the past few days have flown by. Before I left to go meet up with Addy on the road trip I spent some time baking. I really do love to cook and bake but since I only was able to bring very limited kitchen utensils it can sometimes get a little frustrating to make everything from scratch. So I was in the kitchen a few hours longer than I would have been had I been equipped with my usual tools (I really, really miss my pretty KitchenAid stand mixer!!!). But the outcome was delicious, and am so glad I got back to my baking roots because I find it very therapeutic to take time with each step in the recipe to then come out with something yummy and homemade. Both recipes I highly recommend to anyone who is looking to satisfy their sweet tooth!

First I made these healthy beauties with the fresh strawberries we had picked earlier in the week, the recipe can be found at this blog: Alida’s Kitchen.

Strawberry Yogurt Muffins

Next up I made a not quite as healthy but oh so good treat, and the recipe can be found at this blog: Shugary Sweets.

Iced Oatmeal Cookies

On Friday, a fellow baseball wife and myself drove to Harrisburg, PA to meet up with our husbands. It was a fairly easy drive that only took about 2 & 1/2 hours. It was a really nice trip and gave us a chance to explore more of this baseball filled world. We took some time on Saturday to drive over to Hershey, PA to visit the land of chocolate makers….yummm! If you are ever in the area do go to Hershey’s Chocolate World. It’s definitely worth a visit if you love chocolate :-) . We came back to our “home” on Sunday and had another off day yesterday. To get his mind off baseball for a few hours Addison wanted to go to Six Flags Great Adventure which is only about 30 minutes away from where we live. We had so much fun! I love roller coasters and this place was packed with them, including the tallest one IN THE WORLD!!! It took some coaxing to get my husband to ride along with me but after he did he loved it!

Kingda Ka – Tallest coaster in the world & 2nd fastest in N. America!

Hubby & I enjoying our day♥

Now we are on a 7 game home stand starting tonight, and I’m pretty excited because my mom and step dad will be here on Thursday! I haven’t seen them since the end of March!! There are plenty of things that are great about this lifestyle but not seeing my family as regularly as I’d like is not one of them. So I’m going to enjoy every minute while they are here. I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week!!
